Teaching resource: the forensic use of bioinformation

The Council has developed a set of teaching resources based on its 2007 report 'The forensic use of bioinformation: ethical issues'.

There are three activities to teach students to think about how fingerprints and DNA profiles are used to investigate crime and the ethical issues that arise from the storage of bioinformation on national databases.

The activities have been developed for Key Stage 4 and above and can be used for a range of subjects including science (GCSE), biology, citizenship, law, philosophy, religious studies and personal development. In science for example, they could be used for teaching on How Science Works.
