Professor Sir Bob Hepple QC and Dr Bronwyn Parry first summarised the findings of the report. Meg Hillier MP (Under-Secretary of State for the Home Office) and Dr Ian Gibson MP then provided their views on the recommendations. The meeting was chaired by Hugh Whittall.

Meg Hillier welcomed the report. Ian Gibson supported the Council’s concerns about the reliability of partial and contaminated DNA samples. Following the presentations, a fruitful discussion was held with approximately 45 attendees.
