Genetic Screening: Ethical Issues

Council Presentations

House of Commons Select Committee 1994-95

One of the public presentations of the Report attracted the interest of the House of Commons Select Committee on Science and Technology. The Committee decided to make human genetics its major subject for the parliamentary session 1994-95. The Council's Report was the starting point of the Select Committee's work. The Council submitted a formal memorandum to the Select Committee, gave oral evidence and provided much material for use by the Committee. Within the ambit of the Council's Report, the conclusions of the Select Committee drew largely on those of the Council.
