Public lectures

The Council regularly hosts public lectures in order to promote debate of a topical bioethics issue.

Previous speakers include Professor Norman Daniels of the Harvard School of Public Health, USA. He delivered his talk, 'Equity and Health: A Bioethics Agenda for the Next Decade', to approximately 110 people at the University of London in May 2005. A transcript of the lecture is available.

Professor Göran Hermerén, Chair of the European Group on Ethics and Professor of Medical Ethics, University of Lund, delivered his lecture in May 2008 at the Royal Society in London. His talk focussed on 'The ranking of values as a basis for ethical decision making'. Find out more.
