Margi Sheth

Margi leads responsible AI in the pharmaceutical industry and has spent 17 years working at the intersection of biomedical research, data ethics, and responsible innovation across the public and private sector. She established the pharmaceutical industry’s first data and AI ethics framework in 2020, and is currently Head of AI Governance & Enablement at Novo Nordisk. She works to embed AI ethics into the strategic and commercial fabric of life sciences, ensuring ethical governance shapes business decisions. She is particularly interested in how ethical frameworks can protect the interests of health data subjects whilst enabling the medical breakthroughs that depend on their data. Margi has published peer-reviewed research and white papers on AI governance in healthcare, and her earlier career included managing large-scale cancer genomics research at the US National Cancer Institute.
