2011 was the 20th anniversary of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics, making it one of the longest running bioethics committees of its kind. In that time it has published 20 reports and discussion papers on a wide range of bioethics issues. Throughout the year we celebrated our achievements but, more importantly, we looked ahead to the next 20 years and how the Council can build on its core values of independence and quality.
