New children’s radio series on bioethics now airing
The new series Bene and Mal’s Body Teasers is now being broadcast on the Fun Kids radio station. It was produced with support from the Council and explores ethical issues around science and the body.
Each episode is aimed at 7-12 year olds and features characters Bene and Mal discussing the ethics of both current and potential future scenarios including organ donation, transplanting animal organs into humans, using data about our bodies, and changing the body through cosmetic procedures or human enhancement.
The episodes are all linked to topics the Council has considered, including organ donation, animal-to-human transplants, biodata, cosmetic procedures, and novel neurotechnologies. You can listen to Bene and Mal’s Body Teasers every day at 5pm on DAB Digital Radio in London and the South East, and online across the UK at http://www.funkidslive.com/player/. Episodes will also be available to download and listen back to at http://www.funkidslive.com/learn/bene-mals-bioethics/about-bene-mals-bioethics/
