The collection, linking and use of data in biomedical research and health care: ethical issues
Report
Published 03/02/2015

Since publication of our report in 2015, we have been working to follow up the recommendations through meetings with relevant organisations, contributing to Parliamentary and policy debates, presentations at conferences and events, and a range of other activities.
In July 2016 a paper was published which summarises follow-up, dissemination and key developments since the report’s publication, including the following:
- The House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee enquiry on big data
- A roundtable hosted with the Department of Health on public trust and health data
- Publication of the National Data Guardian’s review of data security, consent and opt-outs
